Extension data
The extension stores protection settings, replacement library entries, and the signed-in browser connection in extension storage. It does not send your live supported social feeds to an AI service, advertising network, or human review queue.
ShareVeil reads the current tab URL locally to detect supported sites, apply the right replacement rules, and keep the popup in sync with the active tab. Raw page URLs are not used for product analytics.
Account data
If you sign in, ShareVeil stores your email, plan entitlement, device records, platform requests, and support requests in Supabase. Pro accounts also store synced settings and synced library data.
Replacement media
Built-in replacement images and avatars can be used locally without an account. If a Pro user uploads a custom replacement image or avatar, ShareVeil compresses the image, stores it in Cloudflare R2, and stores related media metadata in Supabase so it can sync across the user's signed-in extension and dashboard.
Support and platform requests
Public support and platform request forms can collect the submitted email address, request details, and basic anti-abuse metadata. Signed-in forms use the account email. This information is used to reply to the request, prioritize platform support, protect the forms from abuse, and keep a support record.
Chrome Web Store data use
ShareVeil uses extension data only to provide user-facing privacy, sync, account, support, and billing features. ShareVeil does not sell user data, use it for advertising, or transfer it to third parties except for service providers needed to run the product, such as Supabase, Stripe, Cloudflare, PostHog, Google Analytics, Sentry, and the browser store.
People do not read your synced library or account data unless you ask for support, it is required for security or abuse investigation, or it is legally required.
Extension installs
Browser store installation is handled by the browser vendor. ShareVeil stores account and sync data only after you sign in or connect the extension to a Pro account. The public Chrome listing is available at Chrome Web Store.
Billing
Payments are processed by Stripe. ShareVeil stores Stripe customer and subscription IDs, but does not store card numbers or payment credentials.
Cookies
ShareVeil uses session cookies set by Supabase to keep you signed in to the web dashboard. They expire according to Supabase session settings or when you sign out.
Analytics and error reports
ShareVeil uses privacy-limited product analytics and error reporting to understand installs, billing flow completion, dashboard actions, and production failures. These events use anonymous or hashed account identifiers and do not include emails, page content, recommendation text, raw URLs, screenshots, DOM recordings, or session replay. Google Analytics is used on the public website for acquisition and conversion measurement, such as page views, install clicks, platform votes, support requests, checkout starts, and completed purchases. It is not used to collect supported-site browsing history, recommendation content, or replacement-library content from the extension. Error reports can include a sanitized error name, a shortened error message, and non-sensitive runtime tags. ShareVeil does not run advertising pixels or cross-site behavioral ad tracking.
Retention and deletion
Local extension data stays in your browser until you remove it. Account and support data is kept while your account or request is active and may be retained where required for billing, security, tax, or legal records (typically up to 7 years for billing records). You can request account and synced-library deletion through support; we confirm by email and complete deletion within 30 days unless billing-record retention applies.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, contact us via the support form with the account email. We do not sell or share personal data for advertising.
International transfers
Account, billing, sync, analytics, and error-report data is processed by service providers located in the United States, including Supabase, Stripe, Cloudflare, PostHog, Google Analytics, and Sentry. If you access ShareVeil from outside the United States, your data is transferred to and processed there.
Changes to this policy
Material changes are reflected in the effective date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy. For account holders, significant changes are also communicated by email.
